Dassie Trail

This trail in the Nahoon Estuary Nature Reserve is a great walk for families. The Dassie Trail wanders through forest to an open area of mud flats fringed with mangrove trees. Most of the trail is on a boardwalk with information boards and tree labels along the way. Entrance is free.

Nahoon Beach

Nahoon Beach has beautiful unspoilt beaches and is the venue of many national surfing competitions. The Nahoon River flows into the sea here, creating an estuary which provides safe swimming.

Lavender Blue Farmer's Market

Lavender Blue is a local market offering organic produce from local farmers and producers. It has an on-site coffee shop and restaurant. Opening times: Tues to Fri: 8am – 3:30pm, Sat: 7:30am – 1pm, Sun & public holidays: 8am – 1pm. Closed on Mondays.

The East London Museum

The East London Museum is one of the most interesting natural and cultural history museums in SA. The museum features fine exhibits, including the coelacanth, discovered in 1938, a display of maritime history of the area, and an extensive collection of beadwork relating to the Xhosa-speaking people.

East London Golf Club

The East London Golf Club in Bunkers Hill is one of the oldest golf clubs in South Africa. The Club and course has played host to the SA Open six times and is a regular home for National and Regional Championships, Seniors and Nomads Tournaments.
